Abstract

Learning the History of Islamic Culture faces various challenges in modern education, especially those related to the mismatch between teaching methods and student interests. This research uses library research methodology to investigate the current state of teaching Islamic cultural history, aiming to identify and analyze factors that are detrimental to the gap between pedagogical approaches and student engagement.

One significant challenge lies in the differences between traditional teaching methodologies and the dynamic learning preferences of today's students. While conventional approaches often rely on rote memorization and passive learning, modern students prefer learning environments that are interactive, experiential, and integrated with technology. As a result, the mismatch between pedagogical strategies and student expectations causes a decline in enthusiasm and understanding in studying the history of Islamic culture.

Overcoming these challenges requires changes in teaching methodology and a comprehensive curriculum framework. Implementing a student-centered approach that combines interactive pedagogy, multimedia resources, and experiential learning opportunities can increase student engagement and understanding of Islamic cultural history.
