Optimalisasi Peran Rumah Tahfiz dalam Meningkatkan Literasi Al-Qur’an bagi Anak-Anak

Abstract

The Qur’an is a fundamental source of Islamic teachings that plays an important
role in shaping children’s religious character, moral values, and spiritual
development. However, the ability to read, understand, and memorize the Qur’an
among children requires continuous guidance, appropriate learning strategies,
and supportive educational environments. Rumah Tahfiz as a community-based
Islamic educational institution has an important role in improving Qur’an literacy
through structured learning activities, mentoring, and character building. This
article aims to analyze the optimization of the role of Rumah Tahfiz in improving
Qur’an literacy among children. This study uses a qualitative approach with a
literature review method by analyzing various studies related to Qur’an literacy
education, the role of Rumah Tahfiz, and strategies for developing children’s
Qur’an learning abilities. Data were obtained from scientific articles, research
reports, and relevant publications. The analysis focuses on learning methods, the
role of educators, learning environments, and community involvement in
supporting Qur’an literacy development. The results indicate that Rumah Tahfiz
contributes significantly to improving children’s Qur’an literacy through several
strategies, including the implementation of structured reading programs,
memorization activities, individual guidance, and interactive learning methods.
The use of approaches such as talaqqi, repetition, and direct correction helps
children improve their Qur’an reading accuracy and memorization skills. In
addition, Rumah Tahfiz also functions as a place for character formation by
instilling discipline, responsibility, and love for the Qur’an. The optimization of
Rumah Tahfiz requires support from teachers, parents, and the community.
Continuous development of teaching quality, learning facilities, and innovative
methods is needed to create an effective Qur’an literacy environment. Therefore,
Rumah Tahfiz can become an important educational institution in producing a
generation that is not only capable of reading and memorizing the Qur’an but also
applying its values in daily life.
