Pelatihan Pemanfaatan Canva dan Photoshop dalam Meningkatkan Keterampilan Desain Grafis bagi Masyarakat di Era Digital

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has increased the demand for graphic
design skills as an essential competency for communication, promotion, education,
and entrepreneurship in the digital era. However, many community members still
have limited knowledge and skills in utilizing digital design applications
effectively. This community service program aimed to improve the graphic design
competencies of participants through training on the use of Canva and Adobe
Photoshop. The program was designed to equip participants with practical skills
in creating digital visual content, including posters, social media graphics,
promotional materials, and educational media. The training was conducted using
a participatory approach consisting of lectures, demonstrations, guided practice,
assignments, and evaluation sessions. Participants were introduced to the basic
concepts of graphic design, design principles, color composition, typography,
image editing, and the practical application of Canva and Photoshop for various
digital communication needs. The effectiveness of the program was evaluated
through observation, participant performance assessments, and feedback
questionnaires. The results indicated a significant improvement in participants’
understanding of graphic design concepts and their ability to create attractive and
functional visual content independently. Participants also demonstrated increased
confidence in utilizing digital design tools to support personal, educational, and
entrepreneurial activities. The findings are consistent with previous studies
highlighting the role of Canva and digital design training in strengthening digital
literacy, creativity, and community empowerment in the digital age. Therefore, the
Canva and Photoshop training program can be considered an effective strategy
for enhancing community digital competencies and supporting sustainable digital
transformation.
