Knowledge is one of the greatest blessings bestowed by Allah
SWT upon humanity and occupies a highly important position in
Islam. Since the revelation of the first Qur'anic verse
commanding people to read, Islam has emphasized that
knowledge is a fundamental foundation for building a faithful,
ethical, and civilized society. Seeking knowledge is not merely
considered an intellectual activity but also an act of worship that
brings individuals closer to Allah SWT. This article aims to
examine the perspectives of the Qur'an and Hadith on
knowledge, the status of knowledgeable individuals, the
obligation to seek knowledge, and the responsibility to apply and
disseminate knowledge for the benefit of society. The study
employs a library research method with a descriptive qualitative
approach by analyzing relevant Qur'anic verses and authentic
Hadiths related to knowledge. The findings reveal that Islam
places great value on knowledge and elevates the status of those
who possess and utilize it properly. Furthermore, knowledge is
regarded as a means of achieving success in both worldly and
spiritual life, as well as a tool for contributing positively to
society. Therefore, every Muslim is encouraged to continuously
seek, practice, and share knowledge for the advancement of the
Muslim community and the betterment of human life.
