Abstract

Tawhid is one of the fundamental concepts in Islam that
emphasizes the oneness of Allah and becomes the foundation for
understanding all aspects of human life, including the
development of knowledge. This article aims to analyze the
concept of tawhid as the basis for the integration of knowledge
from an Islamic perspective. In Islamic thought, knowledge is not
separated into religious and secular categories because all forms
of beneficial knowledge originate from Allah as the source of
truth. The dichotomy between religious sciences and modern
sciences has created a gap between intellectual development and
spiritual values. Therefore, the tawhid paradigm offers an
integrated framework that connects revelation, reason, and
empirical knowledge. This study uses a qualitative approach with
a library research method by examining various sources,
including the Qur’an, Hadith, Islamic philosophical works, and
relevant academic studies on the integration of knowledge. The
analysis focuses on the ontological, epistemological, and
axiological dimensions of tawhid in shaping the Islamic
worldview of science. The findings show that tawhid provides a
holistic foundation for knowledge by recognizing Allah as the
ultimate source of existence and knowledge. Consequently,
scientific activities are directed not only toward intellectual
achievement but also toward ethical responsibility and human
welfare. The integration of knowledge based on tawhid seeks to
eliminate the separation between religious and scientific
disciplines by creating harmony between faith and reason.
Science in the Islamic perspective is viewed as a means to
understand the signs of Allah in the universe and to strengthen
human responsibility as a servant and vicegerent of God.
Therefore, tawhid serves as a spiritual and philosophical
foundation that guides the development of knowledge toward
moral, meaningful, and beneficial purposes.
