Peran Pendidikan Islam dalam Melahirkan Tradisi Keilmuan dan Inovasi

Abstract

Islamic education plays a central role in building a strong scholarly tradition and driving innovation across various domains of life. This study aims to analyze the historical and contemporary contributions of Islamic education in cultivating intellectual culture, nurturing research spirit, and producing innovations that benefit human civilization. The method employed is library research with a descriptivequalitative analytical approach applied to relevant primary and secondary sources. The findings indicate that: (1) Islamic 1 education has historically fostered a scholarly tradition oriented toward the integration of religious and general sciences; (2) Islamic educational institutions such as pesantren, madrasah, and Islamic universities serve as incubators for social and technological innovation; (3) Islamic values such as iqra, tafakkur, and rahmatan lil 'alamin constitute the epistemological foundation for knowledge development. This study recommends strengthening research-based curricula and cultivating a culture of scholarly excellence within Islamic educational institutions
