Abstract

Scientific literacy has become one of the essential competencies required in the Society 5.0 era, where technological advancements and digital transformation significantly influence various aspects of human life. For Muslim generations, scientific literacy is not only important for understanding scientific and technological developments but also serves as a means of integrating knowledge with Islamic values. This study aims to examine the importance of scientific literacy for Muslim generations in the Society 5.0 era and explore its role in developing critical, adaptive, innovative, and ethically responsible individuals. The research employed a qualitative approach using a library research method. Data were collected from books, scientific journal articles, research reports, and other relevant academic sources related to scientific literacy, Islamic education, and Society 5.0. The collected data were analyzed using content analysis techniques to identify key themes and patterns regarding the relationship between scientific literacy and the development of Muslim generations in the digital age. The findings indicate that scientific literacy plays a crucial role in enhancing critical thinking skills, problem-solving abilities, and evidence-based decisionmaking. Furthermore, scientific literacy helps Muslim generations respond wisely to the challenges of digital information, misinformation, technological disruption, and global issues. The study also reveals that integrating scientific literacy with Islamic values can foster individuals who are intellectually competent, morally grounded, and socially responsible. Therefore, strengthening scientific literacy through Islamic education, digital learning innovation, and the cultivation of a knowledge-based culture is essential for preparing Muslim generations to actively contribute to society while maintaining their religious identity in the Society 5.0 era.
