Konsep Menuntut Ilmu dalam Al-Qur'an dan Relevansinya Bagi Mahasiswa

Abstract

Seeking knowledge is one of the fundamental teachings in Islam and holds a very important position in human life. The Qur’an, as the primary source of Islamic teachings, provides comprehensive guidance regarding the significance of knowledge, the process of acquiring it, as well as its objectives and benefits for both individuals and society. This study aims to examine the concept of seeking knowledge in the Qur’an and analyze its relevance for university students in facing educational challenges in the modern era. This research employs a qualitative approach using a library research method. The data sources consist of the Qur’an, Qur’anic exegesis (tafsir) literature, Islamic education books, and scholarly articles relevant to the topic. Data were collected through documentation techniques and analyzed using content analysis. The findings reveal that the concept of seeking knowledge in the Qur’an encompasses the commands to read, think, reflect, observe, and develop knowledge based on faith in Allah SWT. The Qur’an also emphasizes the noble status of knowledgeable individuals and highlights the importance of utilizing knowledge as a means of self-improvement and social benefit. For university students, this concept is highly relevant in fostering a culture of literacy, developing critical thinking skills, maintaining academic integrity, and applying knowledge for the welfare of society. Therefore, understanding the Qur’anic concept of seeking knowledge can serve as a foundation for shaping students who excel intellectually, spiritually, and morally
