This study aims to analyze the politics of educational policy in promoting
the digital transformation of schools and madrasahs within the context of
rapidly evolving technological developments and educational reform.
Digital transformation has become a strategic priority for improving the
quality, accessibility, and effectiveness of education, requiring strong
policy support and collaborative governance. This research employed a
qualitative approach using a library research method. Data were collected
through documentation of government regulations, policy documents,
books, peer-reviewed journal articles, and other relevant scholarly sources
related to educational policy and digital transformation. The collected
data were analyzed using content analysis techniques to identify key
themes, policy directions, implementation strategies, and major challenges
associated with digital transformation in educational institutions. The
findings reveal that educational policy plays a pivotal role in facilitating
digital transformation by establishing regulatory frameworks, expanding
digital infrastructure, improving internet connectivity, strengthening
educators' digital competencies, promoting curriculum innovation, and
accelerating the digitalization of educational administration and
governance. National policies have encouraged schools and madrasahs to
integrate digital technologies into teaching, learning, and institutional
management, thereby enhancing educational quality and organizational
efficiency. Nevertheless, policy implementation continues to face
significant challenges, including disparities in technological
infrastructure, unequal internet access between urban and rural areas,
limited digital literacy among educators and students, insufficient
professional development opportunities, and financial constraints affecting
technology adoption. These barriers have created unequal opportunities
for educational institutions in implementing digital transformation
initiatives. Therefore, the study concludes that successful digital
transformation requires strong political commitment, consistent policy
implementation, adequate financial investment, and sustainable
collaboration among government agencies, educational institutions,
communities, and other stakeholders to ensure an inclusive, equitable, and
sustainable digital education ecosystem.
